PMS question?
Did PMS get worse for anyone after surgery?
Before surgery, I was told that I was perimenopausal, and only had 2 or 3 light periods per year. Now, my PMS is almost crippling and I am having periods every 3 to 4 weeks. I am 46 years old and I was looking forward to menopause, not a second puberty.
Has anyone else had something like this happen?

I just had a hysterectomy because my periods were so heavy and even birth control pills wouldn't control them. After I had to have an iron infusion (because of the RNY I couldn't get my iron up with pills) I decided it was time. I am having "PMS" right now, but thankfully there will be no heavy period or terrible cramps in the next few days! Hope you fell better soon. You may want to talk to your PCP about a birth control pill for awhile.
I was told to expect some hormonal havoc. I started spotting a couple of days after my surgery so I guess I am kind of expecting it to get worse from here, unfortunately.
I think I may be quick to request a uterine ablation if I have issues with iron as I am 45 and have no real need for periods anymore, and it is an even easier procedure than the partial hysterectomy. The moodies wouldn't be impacted, though.
