Bruising during fills -no more!!

The last two times I have gone in for a fill I have had to see the new surgeon.  The first time she told me I shouldn't be eating string cheese ( WTF?) and then she proceeded to bruise the hell out of me while she dug around trying to fill me..that bruise lasted a week and a half - I couldn't wear jeans or anything that would put pressure on the child fist size bruise.  Last week had to see her again - this time I'm making a good choice with the cheese (WTF - someone must have talked to her) but yet again she bruised me while she attempted to find the port center to fill it (that's after she marked up my stomach with a pen before she even attempted with a needle)...so here I am a week out and the bruise is still at least an inch and a half across UGH.   I called the office on Monday and said look - I've been bruised twice during my fills with this Dr., and I know it happens sometimes but Dr. Toder never had this kind of problem and I DO NOT want to see the new surgeon again..I want to see Dr. Toder ...so they said okay we'll reschedule it for Toder.

I must say my dr is awesome and can fill me  with no problem, his assistant has had a little more of a struggle.  the last time I watched my dr. and told his assistant how the needle looked (Angle) when he got it, and he did it first shot,  everyone is different and you can imagine how confusing it must be going from one to another.  so Next time your dr. does it, put your head up and watch, where and which angle and them them out.  I don't blame you, it does hurt if not done right, but boy, when they do it right, it's not painful at all.  Its your body and go ahead and help them out if it makes it easier for you (AND them)  good luck.  I"ve never heard anything bad about a cheese stick???  WTF is right?

Good for you!  You need to speak out and let medical practices know when things are not right.

The practice needs to know about these problems. I would be sure Dr. Toder knows about the bruising and string cheese comments. She is the director of the program and needs to know how patients are treated and when contradicting information is given.

String Cheese is one of my go-to quick protein fixes.
