Hello!  I just wanted to poke in and say hi.  I'm new but I've put most of my recent info on my profile page (check it out!).  I'm really looking to connect with people in the great state of Maine that have had the surgery and/or people who will be having the surgery that wouldn't mind talking on a more personal basis (private messages, maybe even chatting on the phone from time to time).  Just looking for some support and also would love to help support others.  I love message boards and will participate in them, but I sometimes get overwhelmed by lots of people on a message board and would really love to connect with a few people one-on-one as well.  :-)

Welcome aboard. There aren't a ton of us on here, and we get pretty personal!  But it's a great group of people and we give/receive a great deal of support from each other.  Not to mention a lot of humor!

Also a newbie, but just wanted to say that it's nice to have people around who can relate to what you're going through. I haven't had surgery yet, still waiting on my consultation but I think it's going to happen! Thankfully I have an insurance that will cover it.

Most of my friends are pretty negative about WLS since they are all fat like me. I don't know what it is with people not wanting to let others improve themselves. Anyone else experience that? My only supportive friend is the "thin" one who doesn't have a weight problem! LOL
