Can you tell me the things that you had for Liquids 2 weeks prior to your surgery and two weeks after?  And has anyone seen or heard from the nice lady that had her sugery back in November?  I think her name was Bev she lives near Dover.. I haven't seen her and was wondering if she is doing o.k.

Let's see if I can remember...  Protein shakes (I tried all different kinds), SF Jello, broth, tea, etc.  I made all the protein shakes with milk to get some extra vitamins and calories because I was so run down from not eating "real" food.  The first few days are really hard but it does get easier.

I haven't heard from Bev in awhile.  I hope she's doing well.  Bev, if you're out there, check in and let us know how you're doing.

Yup...kinda boring but: sf jello, sf popsicles, broth, protein shakes, water...it's gets old after a while, but VERY worth it!

Tracy on here also gave me a recipe for SF jello mixed with greek yogurt.  It was a nice change after surgery and had a little more consistency.  We used cheesecake flavor.  I also had creamed soups.

mock cheese cake filling  YUM

1 package Sugarfree cheesecake flavored instant pudding miked with 1/2 cup milk till smooth then add a large container 16 oz (i think) if plain greek yogurt
mix well
you can add more milk if it is too thick
it is very yummy and has lots of protein
you can also try other flavors of puddings the pumpkin pie flavor would be nice but they don't make it in sugarfree that I know of.

I'm just do protein shakes and SF jell-o pretty much -- not too exciting. I do have some interesting protein shakes, though, one that is like a cinnamon bun. It does seem to help to dress up the shakes sometimes.

I have no idea how I will do after the surgery. I am having some concerns as I have some lactose issues now, so I expect that to be a big problem. Eggs also make me gassy, so I wonder if they will be a no-no.

Using milk and greek yogurt makes good smoothies too.

I went through the program in Portland too.  You can also have a frozen meal (ie lean cuisine, Smart Ones, or Healthy Choice) per day as long as under 300 calories.  That is what got me through the 2 week pre-op diet.   You can also have 3 oz of chicken or Fish along with cooked veggie too!   Here is the Nutrition info page if you need it.

Yes, it is nice being able to have one little meal per day, though for some reason I am not losing much of anything this way. I am worried that I will only be down 2-3 pounds between my app't last week and my surgery next week. But I am following the diet to the letter.

I'm smack dab in the middle of my liquid diet right now and this is what I've been eating:

SF Jello
SF Jello Pudding (usually with protein powder added)
SF Popsicles
Milk milk milk milk MILK
Strained cream soups (made with milk or water)
Chicken/beef broth
Light non-fat yogurt (greek and regular)
SF hot chocolate (Swiss Miss "Diet" - 25 cal/serving)
No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast (not as much protein, but has fiber!)
Protein shakes (Unjury Chocolate and Vanilla, mostly)
Protein power in various food like yogurt, soup, etc. (Unjury unflavored is excellent for this)
Tea - especially chai with a little milk

I'm trying to mix it up as much as I possibly can, because you get bored with it VERY quickly.  Like, I had miso soup once - not good to have all the time because of the ridiculously high amounts of sodium, but at least it was something different, while still falling under the "liquid" category.
