Need help/suggestions
I am 7 weeks out from gastric bypass surgery. I am having a real problem eating again. I think I am chewing my food well and don't think I'm eating too much, but nothing seems to stay down very well. Has others had this same problem. I spoke to Dr. Toder about it and she said it was normal, but I am getting concerned.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

I wouldn't worry if Dr. Toder says it's okay. She knows her stuff. Just curious, how much are you eating? What does stay down for you? How much protein are you eating? How are your fluids? I'll be exactly 8 weeks tomorrow. I don't eat much, but with one shake a day, I'm managing about 70-75 grams of protein.
I lived on these just to get my protein in for the first 3 months after surgery.

Things do get better the longer you are out. I relied on soft proteins at first- cottage cheese, tuna salad w/ LF mayo, peanut butter, cheese, eggs. I thought chicken breast would be an easy one- not unless it is moist and with some broth or applesauce. It won't take much to fill you. Take it slow and count spoonfuls.
Are you able to keep things down?
Hard proteins still sit heavy in my and I have to remember to chew, chew and slow down.
Dr. Toder knows her stuff follow what she says- things will get better.
