fill yesterday OWWWW

I had the new surgeon (Dayhim) do my fill yesterday.  I have gained 2 lbs since my last fill (I chalk it up to the fact that it is that TOM) So first I got hell for being able to eat larger portions (hellllo no restriction)...then I got hell for eating cheese for a snack - she said that it would go right thru me and not stick by me so I should avoid it.  Isn't cheese protein????  Then she gave me hell for popcorn. (better than sweet foods which I have done REALLY good at avoiding)  Then when she gave me my lidocaine she put enough in me to kill a horse and then rooted around forever trying to find the center of the port - had me distend my stomach out and hold it so she could find it.  That was really comfortable NOT.  Then after rooting around and sticking me about 10 times and hitting the metal edge of the port she FINALLY found the center.  I am bruised and sore today.  I called and found out that Dayhim will be doing most of the fills now unless I am having a problem and need to see Toder.  I am not impressed.  So I now have 6 cc's in my band and hopefully will get some restriction.

Hope you are feeling better and have some restriction now!  WOW!  That sounds like quite an ordeal!  Hope things are going better now!
Keep us posted!

OK, they shouldn't make you feel bad, they should just try to help.  So sorry you went through that.  I've had a painful fill where the nurse couldn't find the center of the port b/c it turned so I know what you feel.  Be thankful for the lidocaine though, we don't get that here.  I hope you have some restriction now and are doing well!

when my dr. gives me fills I hardly feel a pinch, it's like he know exactly where the port center is.  His assistand has a harder time, but I like him alot, so just suck it up and deal with it.  I'm happy where i am and don't have to go back for a fill right now.

Hopefully with practice the new doc will get better.  Sorry for your ordeal, no fun!!  HOpe you have enough restriction now and can stay away from there for awhile.  Is 6cc's a lot? It sounds like a lot...

as far as how much is enough,  I was too full at 5.2 (couldn't even swallow my spit) had an unfill and now i'm at 3.2 and have a great restriction, although when I was there before hardly felt anything,  it changes, hard to explain or understand.  dont let yourself get too full "Please"  you should not be throwing up, i've only done that 2-3 times in 20 months. (except for the few days I was too full) slimming is a different story, but still is something you should be watching and trying to control.  it's my pouch giving me warning signals.  (Slow down, chew, don't drink when eating, stay away from certain foods (white bread, pasta, dry meats)
