Sleep study tonight

I'm going for a sleep study to see if I can toss out the CPAP machine. Since I drive a commuter van I want medical testing that my sleep apnea is reduced and that I don't need the machine.

Though it has never been tested in accident situations not using your CPAP, being drowsy and getting into an accident could come back to haunt us who are prescribed to use them.

So 7:30 PM I will be checking into the sleep lab to get wired up. OH boy, another sleep-less study as they are known in my family. How can you sleep when wired up and you know there's a camera with a technician watching you????? Ambien to the rescue.

I hope that you are sleep apnea free!  I think I will always have mine, I am sure that I've had it my whole life and was just diagnosed fifteen years ago.

Yes- The doctor's office gives a prescription for 2-5mg ambien. If one doesn't work within a 1/2 hour I could take the second.

One did the trick- within 20 minutes I was nighty-night.

It doesn't affect your sleep test results. If you have obstructive breathing, restless legs, etc that will still happen while you are sleeping. Th techiciay did tell me that my best sleep was on my side. I had some episodes of apnea when I was lying on my back. The official report will come from the doctor in the next week or so.
