Went to the info session for Maine Medical Center this evening with my husband.  I totally thought I was going to be one of like 4 people but there were a lot of people.  Feeling good about things.  Appointment with PCP next week!  Still waivering a little on which procedure.  I thought I was set on the RNY but still not TOTALLLY sold.  I think my biggest consideration is the fact that im only 26 and havent had kids yet.  IF I had the band instead it would probably be easier to be pregnant and if needed the band could be taken off........i dont know.

I would suggest you check out the pregnancy after weight loss surgery board too.   It is a very personal decision.  Just keep researching and you'll figure out what will work out best with your lifestyle!  Good luck!

I am 10 weeks pregnant, had my surgery in June. I am doing just fine other than normal pregnancy symptoms of nausea- and I am 24 and this is my first baby!!!!

RNY is a great way to lose weight quick except the wati time to get pregnant is longer (should be 12-18 months)...I got pregnnat on the pill- and I had trouble getting pregnant before my surgery, so life is good

Thanks.  I am not in any rush to get pregnant, but I know it is something I want.  Ultimately I want to be able to play sports again.  I want my activity and social life to revolve around sports and outdoor activities instead of eating out or cooking.  Not to mention being able to walk into the Gap with my head held high and actually trying on pants!!!  Not only am i large and in charge, but I am also about 6'3" which for a woman is obvious super tall.  So sure I can shop at lane bryant but I cant buy any of the regular pants I have to order them to find talls.  Oh to be average lol
