I have started my first day of the pre-op phase 2 diet and I have no energy.  I went to the pool this morning for the arthritis swim program, and now I just feel wiped out.  I am not having any trouble with cravings or hunger.  I'm just tired.

I do remember reading from all of you who have gone before me that it gets better after the 3rd day, so I will hang in there.  I'm looking forward to joining you all on the loser's bench.

Make sure you get in all your liquid meals and snacks. Day 3 was the turn around point for me. Things went better after that.
Good Luck! Surgery is right around the corner!!

Sorry you are feeling so crappy.  I am one of the fortunate people that actually had more energy on the high protein liquid diet.  Yes... I was starving but my energy level was so much better.  It will get better.  Try a heavier soup maybe.  They let me have black bean soup (had no chunks) the first week for dinner.  I added greek yogurt and that helped.  Try mixing stuff into the greek yogurt to see if that helps.

Hi Bev.
Now that you are a few days into your liquid diet how are you doing?
I know some cheat on this diet but I never did.  I pretty much survived on Unjury Chicken Soup and Adkins Strawberry Protein Shakes (I blended them with frozen strawberries and ice and it was like having a milkshake for a meal!).
Bev when you are tempted to cheat remember all the work you did to get approval for surgery.  Let that be your strength to get through this.  Keep your hands busy doing your crafts and continue your swimming.  Continue being active.  That will help a lot.
Good luck to you!
