So, I have been thinking about this for about a year.  I am starting to think that this really is the right desicion for me.  I am going to attend an info session next month, but was wondering if people can tell me what the average time people take off from work?

It really depends on the type of job that you do.  As long as it's not very strenuous, most people seem to go back about 2 weeks after surgery.  At that point you're starting to feel human again and most of the pain is gone.  Best of luck and if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

I was given the okay to go back to work after three weeks, my Employer made me stay out an additional week (we have a nurse that evaluates you before you can come back) and then she had me to four hour days for a week, then six hour days for another week.  But really, I could have come back after three.

I had surgery 3/12 and went back to work 4/1.  I could have come back after a week or so but had the time so I used it.  I would plan on two weeks.

It usually depends on the type of job you do.  I took 6 weeks off, but I need to be able to do some heavy patient lifting.  I was glad to have the time off!

I took 2 weeks off and then decided that I would take the 3rd off. My program has soft foods start at week 3 and I though it was wise to start foods at home rather than work.

I was tired and ready to return home after a full day at work. I do an office job.

Thanks for all the input!  I work an extremely easy going desk job and am a quick healer so this gives me a good idea.
