My Friend

Derek passed away tonight from the swine flu.  I am so sad.  I never met him he was a friend of my sister but we started chatting several months ago b/c he was getting ready for bypass and needed someone to talk about weight loss surgery with.  He was a great guy and I am so saddened he didn't get his chance.  I did get a chance and I'm not working with it the way I am supposed to  and it makes me so angry at myself.

{{{{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}}}  I'm so sorry for your loss.  We can definitely become close with friends we haven't "met" yet, and I'm sorry you're hurting.  Maybe this is the wake up call to tell you to start using your chance the way you're supposed to.  Don't be angry with yourself, but turn those feelings into something positive you can do for yourself.  Again, I'm so sorry for your loss and sorry Derek didn't get his chance for surgery.

how terribly sad.  you read so many of these stories, if we all said "If I would of" of could of?? we'd all be depressed.  we all have our demonds and this wls is no different.   it gives us a whole new set of things to worry about.  dont be mad at yourself, your not the only one having problem.  we Lap banders have a whole bunch of different issues then our friends who had rny, we just need to do our best with what we got. keep trying to make it work, i'm still tryign to figure my band out after18 months post op.  I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. 

I'm sorry for your loss and that Derek never got his chance.  He must have been pretty ill to die from swine flu, that's too bad.

I am sorry to hear about your friend  You should not be mad at yourself, we are all human. Perhaps you can start using your tool the way you should in honor of your friend. Give yourself the chance that he didn't get  Be gentle with yourself. Best wishes to you and Derek's family.
