GAS!!!!!!!!   It's not in my intestinal tract, it's left over from surgery on Monday!  If it wasn't for the pressure on my belly, I'd be feeling pretty good!  Does anyone know how that gas gets "reabsorbed" or anything I can do to make it go away faster?  I've been walking, changing positions, moving around, like the PA told me to.  It's not SUPER painful, just very uncomfortable and the pressure on my skin is what's bothering me the most, I think!!! How far can skin stretch?  haha (I know, I've got plenty there to stretch, but still........give a girl a break!  haha!  Can you tell I'm feeling better?  I've got some sarcasm back!  WATCH OUT!!!)

Any ideas??

Hope you all have a great day!
Thanks!!!!!!!!!

i've had several surgeries and none as bad "Gas" wise as the band.  I think Dr. L must really open us up with it to see what's going on in there.  it took me 2 weeks to get rid of all the pain.  it even was in my shoulders.  you doing what you can, walk, move posiitions, move your arms around.  you'll be fine...

heating pad can help with the pain from it.

Heating pad and walk walk walk.  That was the only thing that worked.  My gas ended up under my shoulder and damn that hurt.  Hot showers helped to..just let it beat down on the sore areas.  Good luck!

Shoulder pain
The gas used during surgery often gets trapped under the diaphragm, causing pains that radiate up to the shoulder. This will go away in time, but it causes varying degrees of discomfort until it does. Try using two heating pads – one on the front and one on the back of the affected shoulder. If you are not taking medication for pain, ask your doctor which analgesic would work best to alleviate shoulder pain. To help dissipate the gas, consider peppermint tea, ginger ale, or carrot juice.

Went to google and typed in gas pain after surgery...check out the last line...Carrot Juice??  Weird

Walk, walk, walk.  I had a lot of gas in my shoulder from my lap RNY.  The most effective thing I could do was to walk.

When I had my surgery, the next day was horrible due to the gas.  I had my BF lightly pound on my back as I rocked and that helped me. It was gone by the next day.  I imagine the thudding on my back moved the gas around. Just a thought.
