I had a hysterectomy two weeks after my 30th birthday and it was the best thing I ever did!   The health problems are gone so are the periods, the cost for "supplies" and having to worry about planning vacations and clothing around a period!

I had one a year and a half ago.  One of the best decisions I ever made.  I had endometriosis (? spelling).  I was only really down for a week.  I was in and out of the hospital in a day.  It was easier than weight loss surgery!  Good luck!

Best of luck. I am sure you will recover quickly because you are now a much lower surgical risk. ;)

I had an ablation done in January for this reason.  Now that I've started to lose weight the periods are back UGH!  If it keeps going I am gonna look into having a hysterectomy done next year.  I am definitely NOT having anymore kids so why the hell not.

Will they do a full or partial?  Wondering about them leaving the ovaries so menopause doesn't come early.

Good for you. That will be one less burden to deal with.

I'm glad you'll finally get some relief from those monster periods.  Never having to buy pads and tampons again is a good thing too.  Hope you get a date soon!
