dehydration -- wow!
Thank goodness they do a good job at explaining the signs of dehydration. I had my first bout of it this morning. Not fun.
***Warning TMI***
Yesterday, by bowels started working for the first time after surgery. I had a lot of yucky diahrea. When I got on the scales this morning, I had lost 5 lbs overnight. That should have.been my first clue.
***End TMI***
I got up this morning, I took my blood pressure meds, my chewable and a dose of pain meds because I felt yucky and my tummy hurt a lot.
I some sugar free custard and started to walk around the house sipping h20. Within about 5 minutes, I started to feel light headed, nauseous, fatigued and dizzy. I sat down and had my husband get me more H20 and I just kept sipping. He didn't like how I looked, so he called Dr. T's office. He thought for sure we were heading to the hospital. I slowly kept sipping. It took about 1/2 for a nurse to get back to me and by that time I was starting to feel better. She told me that if I didn't continue to feel better that I needed to call them back and most likely go to the ER. Even though it was hard, I continued to sip and I'm feeling completely better now.
I couldn't believe how hard and fast it hit me. Lesson #1 of WLS learned. If you feel nauseous, light-headed and fatigued, keep sipping that H20 even if you don't want to. You'll be happy you did!

I'm on 50mg 2x of metropolol. My BP was still running high at the hospital, but it was usually when I was in pain. I've got an appointment Thursday with my PCP and I'm going to talk about it with them then. If I have another incident like I did today before then, I'm going to move up my appointment.
Yes dehydration is one of the things that can get us in trouble early on. Sip sip sip is the key for a few weeks anyways. as things heal you can get a bigger gulp in and that helps.
Your bowels can be loose for a while too and that doesnt help either. Sounds like you are on the mend. take care and keep us posted.
