Has anyone out there had a hernia because of the surgery, and if so, how would I know if it is a hernia?

You need to go to your pcp  or get in to  cloughs office to be checked.  they can usually tell by  feeling it.   it is nothing to mess around with.  HOpe all is well!!!

I'd for sure go get checked by your doctor.  Sometimes they can feel the larger ones but my surgeon says that sometimes the small ones can give you quite a bit of pain and may not show up on any tests or when they feel around.  I'd go get checked and see what the doc says!  Good luck!

I have been having intermittent pain in my belly for about one year now and never said anything to my doctor because I thought maybe I ate something I shouldn't have or something else.  I don't have a gallbladder either (I had it out 12 years ago after my last child).  Well I just went in for my 1 1/2 year check up and the PA just happend to ask the right question, because I am not one to complain.  He asked if I ever have any pain or nausea and I told him about the pain and how the only way I can describe it to him is it feels like when I had gallstones and that it has been getting more frequent.  This was two weeks ago...I am scheduled for surgery this Thursday.  If I was you I would call the surgeons office and get it checked out.  I am pretty sure it is serious stuff because they even bumped someone from the OR to fit me in for the surgery.  Good Luck!
