so I had a soft boiled egg and did fine. Plus I felt really good after some real whole food. Well then I got curious and had a small peice of tofu light/ soft. I felt a crazy feeling in my chest, kind of like i swallowed a horse pill and it got stuck in my throat. then my mouth started to foam up and well all you post op pro's know what happened next.  OK now i am scared to eat!  I go see Dr. Toder on friday and the nut so they will move me to the stage 4 diet. what foods did you start out with???  what is easy to eat and wont cause me to throw up. I am thinking fish but I am scared to try it.

I stuck with soft scrambled eggs, tuna w/light mayo, and ground turkey protein meatballs that I made.  Careful, you don't want to damage your pouch while it is still healing. It takes a good six weeks for the staple line to heal.

Stick with  your  liquids and custard for a few more days.   Try    egg drop soup.

then  start out slowly the  nuts will give you  a recipe book when you see them.   That has lots of good ideas   in it.

kelly is right this is healing time.   p/u is not fun and  can hurt the staple line.

You sould wonderful!!!!

What everyone else has said is sooo true!  Start off slowly and stick with soft foods!  Don't ru****you'll be eating like a "normal" person before you know it!!!!!!   Let your tummy heal...it'll thank you in the long run!

Yup- been there done that.

Don't rush things. When you get the OK from the nuts to start soft foods test each one out by itself. You'll learn what your pouchy likes and doesn't like.
Sloooowwww, chew, chew, chew and take tiny portions at first (1 to 2 tablespoons) I can remember cooking an egg and only eating 1/3 or 1/2 of it!
