Not a good run tonight

So I run on the Kennebec Rail Trail all the time.  It is usually very busy with people walking, running or biking.  Many are walking their dogs too.  I have never had a problem until tonight.  This woman was walking 2 small dogs.  Just as I was about to pass by her, one of her dogs jumped up and bit me in the thigh.    I was so no impressed.  And she told me that the dog was just jumping up to see me.  Yeah Right.  I had the marks to prove otherwise.  No broken skin but now I have a bruise.  It was not like I jumped out of no where and startled the dogs.  They saw me as I was approaching. 

We walk that trail quite a bit too!  Sorry to hear about that dog.  I thought there was some kind of law about controlling your animals or something?   Hope your legs heals quickly!  Did you get her name and number in case you get some kind of infection?

No I did not. My DH was mad that I did not call police.  The bite did not break my skin.  It is just little sore and bruised today.
I love the Rail Trail.  It keeps me off the road (expect through Hallowell) and it has mile markers so I know exactly how far I run.

that's frustrating.....bummer

little ******* i love dogs, but damn little yappers are more vicious then big ones.

I'm still trying to get over the "running for miles" part... LOL  People shouldn't allow their dogs out in public if they can't control them. 

Sorry to hear you got bit!  I started doing the rail trail at lunch about two weeks ago.  I think it's beautiful!  I work in the key bank building, so it's close.  Have a great day :)
