well I have been on the liquid diet for one week and five days and have lost 11 lbs. I am happy with that, but can any one explain why if i am eating less then 1000 cal a day and it takes 3000 cals to maintain my current weight(so said Dr. Todder) why only 11 lbs ???????  I dont get it!!

11 pounds in 12 days is pretty good, if you ask me!  That's just about a pound a day!  You are very stong for sticking to the liquid diet!  Don't worry..........it'll ALL be worth it!!  Just remember that this is a journey, not a race...........You'll get there!
Keep us posted!

ETA:  I don't have an answer to your question about calories in/calories out either but.........according to my GoWear Fit, I should be able to eat 1600 calories to maintain my weight( with no working out/physical activity).   I typically eat around 1200, and I can gain!!   I don't get it either!  Maybe it's fluid???

Surgery is right around the corner for you. It will be in no tme now.

Weight loss is what it is. After 2 weeks of liquid dieting I lost 11 pounds. I was happy with that as I had been loosing for the year prior to surgery.  For someone who has been following a healthy meal plan 11 pounds in less than 2 weeks is nothing to sneeze at. Be happy .

Dr. Toder will be pleased with your progress too.

You are doing great !!!!  In response to calorie intake and output my theory is that it is not a day to day loss but an average over time.  You body will also go into starvation mode and try to hold on to any calories you put in your body.  It is also common to "stall" early on.  Don't worry you will lose if you stick to the program.  I have been measuring my weight loss monthly and lose about 15 pounds monthly.  Some weeks I don't lose at all and some I lose three or more pounds.  Good luck and welcome to the losers bench!!

Dont get me wrong, I am supper happy about the 11 lbs lost. I just dont get the math game that all my healthy skinny friends preach at me because it dosent seem to work as well as they beleive.
