Insurance

It is time to update my insurance coverage at work and it is driving me crazy.  We have three plans to choose from and they cost between 240 and 300 a month.  I am truly considering going without coverage.  I called and spoke with Lynn Bolduc today to find out how much nut appoints are and what is covered.  It is only about 75 dollars out of pocket which seems worth it not to have to pay 300 a month then have a 2500 deductible.  She did recommend that I go in early for my calometric? test which measures my metabolism.  She said that since I have lost a pretty good percentage of my excess weight taking it early is not a problem.  I have it scheduled for 9/9.  Blood-work is expensive but my insurance didn't cover it post opt anyway.  I am thinking that if something really major happened I would qualify for reduced cost care through the hospital.  It is so scary but I can barely make ends meet now.  When I was hired insurance was included.  Oh what to do, oh what to do.  I called Dirigo Health today as that is who I used to have coverage through and it was very cost effective but they are not open to individuals anymore and I don't qualify for Mainecare.

ya, i hear you! health insurance is crazy! I leaning more n' more towards Obama's health care plan. I am a Physical therapist and i worry that his plan will cause a decrease in reimbursement and a eventual decrease in my salary. Although to see people get the health care they need with out dealing with health insurance would be worth the cut in pay and the higher taxes.
