Remember me?
I'm BACK! LOL
I see some familiar faces but so many of you all are new to me! My name is Summer and I am nearly 2 years post-op RNY. I lost for 8 months after surgery and got down to 157 at my lowest (for one day, LOL). I settled at 162 for over a year until this past June. I work in the public school system and am home in the summer with my 2.5 year old. Well, that has NOT been great this summer. The weather was so crappy that I got back into snacking mode, not staying within my calorie limit, not getting in my water and not tracking protein. Haven't been to Zumba in a month. Jumped on the scale yesterday and it said 170. GULP! Tried on some of my work clothes that fit in the spring and they're a smidge tight. NOT OK!
But, I go back to work on Monday and I need to get back on track. Being able to pack my meals again for work will help I think, but I think I need some accountability too. So, I'm going to try to pop back in more frequently. I want to get back to the weight I was maintaining or better yet, make it to my initial goal weight of 149 which I never quite reached.
Todays first step is making a big batch of pasta figole soup. (light on the pasta, heavy on the meat and beans). It just feels like a soup day. :)

Yes, hi Summer. It seems to be the theme here- getting back on track.
It's back to school, fall, back on track time. Vacation is over and your world will be on a regular routine, which will be better for planning meals and packing what you need at work.
RNY is wonderful, but it isn't brain surgery- we still have to overcome our darned brains and what they do or don't want in this weight loss journey.
Best wishes with the new school year, new lot of students and back to your routine.

Continuing the weight loss journey 10 pound goals at a time. June 2011
Welcome back....I can not wait for my schedule to get back to a normal. The summer was wonderful with my kids but with them home I didn't exercise as much as I should have. I will be glad to have my weekdays free again to go to the gym and walk. Hopefully we will have a beautiful indian summer well in November...lol (Wishful thinking I know!)
Hey, How have you been!! I've been having the same problems lately. I gained 13 pounds this summer, I know it's because of grazing. Also not weighing myself anymore, I used to weight at least 3 times a week and knew if I was creeping u*****t.
I go back to work full time on the 15th so I think that will help me get into a routine and I can pack my lunch and only eat what I bring.
Keep posting and good luck on reaching your goal. I just want to lose about 5 pounds before my 2 year check-up on the 10th. Then I will be the same as last year at this time.
Keep in touch,
Cheryl
