the last days
two weeks of real food left. I am sooooo scared to go on the pre op diet! I dont know if i will make in two whole weeks. i am also nervous about my weight loss i have maintained but i havent lost even a pound since my doc visit in april. Any one have dr. todder and gain weight before surgery?? my worst nightmare is that she cancels surgery on me!! i might be going crazy.
Dr T WILL cancel surgery. She actually called down to the pre op room on a friend of mine to see if she had lost what was required, so please stick to the two week diet. I know it is hard but is is doable. You have come so far and do not want your surgery canceled. If it is unbearable talk to the nutritionists and see if they will let you have a small protein meal. YOU CAN DO IT. THINK POSITIVE. It is SOOO worth it. Good luck!!! One thing I did was to exchange one meal for a shake starting a week ahead of time so I wasn't going cold turkey. That seemed to help.
Weight includes 21 Pounds lost on 2 Week Pre-op Diet
Sara, you can do this. As Melting Mama always says, "you CAN do hard things." It does suck, but like Tracy said, I too switched out a meal or two the weeks before my liquid diet so that I was more used to it, and especially since I knew that I would be in the "last supper" mindset, which is very destructive to our bodies. I was able to lose 20 pounds in those two weeks, and Dr. T. will be so happy and your surgery will be so much safer. That's the big thing, Dr. T. doesn't want to just make sure you can follow the plan, she wants you to survive your surgery.
Good luck!
Good luck!
