Lost 50%

Well I have officially lost 50% of my excess weight per the calculations used by my Nut.  I am so thrilled because I am ahead of schedule!!!!  They like to see 50% by 6 months.  My 6 months is September 12th.  I am hoping to lose 60% by then which would be another 16 pounds.  I have   about a month and a half until my appointment on September 15th, so I am hoping I will come close.  I am definitely eating more at each sitting which is a little scary so I make sure I still measure and weigh everything.  This journey has been amazing.  I made side to side before and after pictures when I hit 100 pounds loss.  (using the collage photo system through Walmart)  WOW what a difference.  While I am going down in clothing sizes until I looked at myself in side by side photos I didn't really see how much I've changed.  I feel incredible and have a ton of energy.  The summer heat doesn't even bother me. Life is good.

Well, you gonna post those pics so we can see them side by side?  I think you look amazing, and I think you've lost more than 50% of your excess weight, I'm sure you should weigh more than 100 pounds!

LOL.  I can't post the side by side pic as I don't have a scanner.  If you go to my pictures I have arranged them so they are next to each other which works pretty well.  YES, I should weigh more than 100 pounds.  lol.  I asked Lynn to send me the info on how they figure out weight loss percentage.  This is what she gave me.  At 5' 6" my day of surgery weight was 293.3 minus what my low end BMI weight should be (130 pounds).  Which gives me 163.3 pounds of excess weight.  Personally I would look horrible at 130 Pounds.  I plan on asking what a reasonable goal weight is at my next appointment.  My guess is about 155 pounds.  Does this make sense?  I can forward the email from Lynn which has the calculations.  My next goal is to be below 200 then see if I can get to 195 by Sept 15th.

So wouldn't you have been at fifty percent when you lost eighty pounds? In any case you've done great.

Yes...thats right.  They don't use the weight before your surgery date so I had to loose 82 pounds since surgery for the 50%  the 103 pounds includes the two week diet.  Did you have fun in Portland?

Ahhh. That's why. They should use the two week diet. Its part of the loss. Portland and OOB were fun. Went to GNC and Whole Foods. Love that store. I'm reading a new cookbook called Whole Foods diet cookbook. Its great and I want to add some more good carbs and good fats to my diet.

I so want to go to Whole Foods.  Let me know how the cookbook works out.  I have noticed I am eating a lot more whole foods and need some good ideas.  Glad you had fun.
