Carb overload

Well I have been feeling ****ty for the past day or so.  I think it is from having too many carbs.  I feel very tired and like I am walking through sand all the time.  Yesterday when I was working out I felt exausted.  Then to top it off (because it takes me a while to learn) I had more carbs for dinner.  I made homemade pizza for the kiddos and was so tired that rather than cook some protein I had a slice of pizza.  SOOOOO  Today I am trying to do high protein and no more carbs for the rest of the day.  I had a waffle with high protein peanut butter for breakfast and it just about killed me.  SO no more.  I have shrimp for lunch and will do straigh protein for dinner to see if that helps.  I know , I don't do well with carbs so why do I do this to myself.  I guess just to remind myself just how ****ty I can make myself feel.

"Insanity:  doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."

That would also describe me and my incessant need to not weigh my food and over eat until I am miserable for hours. Like today, and last night, and last week.  WHEN will I learn???

I too am going back on protein shakes for a few days to get back on track and give my pour pouch a break.

I am sitting at my desk now with a pouch full of 1/2 a cheeseburger and 3 onion rings... hmmm.... does that explain why my pants are unbuttoned?  Yes, I believe it does.

And I had shrimp for lunch but Tracy you are going to have to teach me how to cook it, mushy again.

LOL.  OK here is what I do for the shrimp.  I boil water with a little salt in it then add the shrimp to the boiling water.  Stir a few times then take one out and cut it to see if it is done. (white all the way thru.)  then I drain them and run cold water over them or put in and ice bath (this stops carryover cooking).  Then I spread them out on a dish towel to finish cooling and pat dry before I put them in the fridge.  I weigh them into portions then refrigerate.  I think that maybe they are too hot when you put them in the fridge and they may be still cooking as they cool.  Hope this helps.

Thank you!  I will try that. I really like shrimp, but not when it's paste.
