Little bump in the road... Long story

Hi all,

Well, here I lay in a hospital bed at Maine Med. On Friday, just started feeling lousy. It started with a slight fever and wicked headache. Then came achy and getting chills. I just thought some sort of bug. On Sunday, I got up to go to the bathroom and then went to the kitchen to ge****er. All of sudden got real dizzy & queazy, i couldn't see! Mom helped me back to bed, that passed very quickly. Got up next morning and got in the shower, it happened all over again. Mom called the rescue and they looked at my incisions (pannic/TT on the 1st, for those that don't know) and they looked fine. They took blood and urine tests and they sent me home said it was a UTI. Ok? So then..tues still fever and chills still going on. I woke up around 11pm and felt a wet spot on my binder?WTH? I went in the bathroom thinking maybe a little blood from the incision. I opened the
binder and all this yucky brown fluid was spewing out of a hole in my pannic incision, so another trip in the rescue and here I am! I am getting iv antibiotics, raging infection says the ER doc. They called the on-call with plastic & hand and he squeezed a bunch more of the yucky stuff and I was admitted. Dr Claytor would be in later in the day. He packed the wound and it's getting changed a couple times a day. He says should know by the weekend if the need to go in and do surgery to clean things out.

Oh, my Kathy, this is turning out to be quite the adventure.  my SIL in Florida had a TT and she also had a few set backs.  it all turned out fine, but she told me she dont think she would have done it had she known.  just hang in there girl, it will be worth it in the end.  Hugs and Lots of HOnks...

OMG Kathy I'm glad you're ok.  How scary!  I really hope they don't have to do surgery again and it starts to resolve on its own with the antibiotics.  I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

LOL!  I am glad to see you still are in good spirits with the Dr. Claytor comment!!!!!!  I am thinking of you!  So sorry you are having to go through this, but it will be better before you know it!  When you have a boo-boo doesn't a kiss always make it better?!  Maybe you should ask him for one HA!!!!!!!!!!!  I get to see him on Aug 12th so he can check and make sure it is okay for me to go in the pool on my trip to San Diego.
