I'm back after going MIA

Hey everyone,

I had turned into a lurker for the last couple of months but wanted to pop in and say HI to all.

I went for me check up in Bangor today, my nine month and the results were much better than I had expected them to be.

I am at 51% of my excess weight lost at this point which is where they want you to be now. But I gotta tell you I thought I had failed big time. I have been so hungry all the time and tired and moody and depressed, we have had a lot of stuff going on but not enough to effect me like it has, and then on top I hit a major stall, over four weeks worth, I was certain I had screwed up.

Anyway, they did my metobolic test today and according to that My metab is normal and I would need to eat between 1763 and 2203 calories to have weight loss under 1763 needs to be medically supervised, that what we all do, and 2203 to 2863 to maintain.

My resting doing nothing at all rate of calories burned is 2203, they add in 660 for doing stuff like living and that's where they get the 2863.

Seems like a lot to me.

Anyway, she recomends 1200-1800 cals a day with protein at up to 90grams if I want to loose some more, I have been living on 800-1000 and that has sucked ass and has put me into starvation mode I think.

I knew this stuff was gonna be complicated but man, it's almost like rocket science becasue not one of us goes through the weight loss journey the same, but after feeling like a bottomless pit of crap yesterday, I now feel awesome to know I am on track but more importantly, knowing that I am not gonna have to eat like Karen Carpenter the rest of my life ( no offense intended I love Miss karen).

Anyway, I miss you all and I promise to try and get on more, and to participate and update my pics as well.

Hope this info helps out someone who was as pissed off and discouraged as I was yesteday!

Hugs
Tony

You are doing awesome, and sometimes we need to just lurk.  Don't have it in us to post, or the time. Keep up the good work.

Tony, nice to hear from you. I have also been absent for a little while.  Busy with work and vacations and such.  I have kinda failure-ish myself , but I think it's because I'm out of my routine.  I'm hoping to get back on track.  I haven't lost the final few pounds (3-5) and well I guess it kinda irritates me.  I'm glad your doing well and you must be so relieved to be able to up your calories.  I bet doing that will get the scale moving again.  Best wishes my friend.

Tony,

So glad you popped in and let us know how you're doing. I've been wondering.

I have my 9 month visit on Aug 7 and am SO glad to read your news. I choose to have the metabolic test. That should be interesting.

Keep up the good work and enjoy your new menu

Yay, Tony, great insight, to what comes next!! You did 51%  come on now how about a pat on YOUR back for that!!! Super, super...and now phase 2 ( or 3 or 4, whatever)  you can do it.  I had stalled since Christmas 4 MONTHs, and still felt for today this was ok, cause i felt so healthy.  Now that i am running, and packing up my life i finally dropped 4 more # but that was the first since right around the holidays.
So don't dispair, glad to see you back, I haven't been on much myself!
love,
kate

It was magic when she realized who she had become...
