Maine Surgeons
Hey Everyone!!!
I'm just starting to explore WLS. I'm leaning towards the Lap Band though since it's less invasive and I have Lupus and I'm prednisone and don't heal well. Does anyone have any recommendations or personal stories for surgeons in Maine. I ive in Portland but would be willing to travel to Augusta too since that's close to my parents and they would be the one taking care of me afterwards. I've always heard the name Dr Cobean mentioned by my doctors in the past. But it seems like a really long wait. Due to some pressing health issues now I'd like something quicker.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Not sure if you are self pay or not.
The quickest wait that i know of is 6 months can be as long as a year depending on your insurance.
If you go to center of excellence which is portland and bangor then the weight is about 9 months.
But could go quicker or less.
Sorry but since now there are so many people looking into the surgery the waits have gotten longer.
I have heard that dr cobean was good and . i want to wish you luck in your journey. welcome to the board

I had surgery in Augusta. If you go through them without needing a 6 month supervised diet then you just need to meet with the nutritionist about 2x and then be submitted, it can be as quick as 4 months. I started my process in September at the informational session and had surgery 6/15, so about 10 months I waited, but trust me darling the wait is worht it, its how you prepare yourself for such a big life change, the time is good.
I wish you luck with surgery

tomorrow is 1 month for me, and life is real good... I can't wait for the next few months!
You look great! You are 1 month ahead of me so I read your posts to see somewhat what my future holds, lol
