I am only 3 weeks out and not thinking of drinknig anytime soon...but I am going on vacation to Jamaicia in April which will bring me to about 10 months out and really want to be able to enjoy a drink or two and be able to enjoy the food choices as well. Iam pretty sure by then I will be fine, but I just need some reassurance that I will be able to do these things.

I am 3 weeks out and down 14 pounds since surgery, down 33 pounds since I started the liquid diet....thats good right?

I am only 16 weeks out and haven't had nor any interest in having alcohol.  Never have so I cannot answer your question.  As far as weight loss you seem right on target.  I lost 10.4 % (nut said they like to see 10%) which was 17 pounds at three weeks but I started out heavier.  It sounds like you are doing great.

During Easter dinner this year I had a f2-3 sips of someone else's white zinfendal wine. I knew I didn't want a full wine glass.   It didn't take much for me to get light headed.

That was the first and last time. I was an occasional drinker when dining out ( like once a month).  Now it doesn't interest me.  Plus it doesn't go with the timing of fluids and meals.

I waited about a year.  Just be careful. It affects us a lot faster and with much less than what you may be used to.  Also be careful of the sugar amounts as alot of mixed drinks are high in sugar.
Sounds like you are doing great on the weight loss.

I  waited about  six month and then tried a pina colada  that was the wrong choice and i did not get much down and i  started to dump.   I did not have anything else for  a while.  I  had a bloody mary at christmas time and it didnt taste good so son finished it.     I have had a glass of white zinfindel
while in florida  about 4 ounces and i felt light headed.   Glad i was in motel room.   I   would be very careful on what you drink and  how much.  But if you   are careful and  do it slow yes you can be successful just remember  that it doe**** us harder and faster    Jamaica sounds fun can i go!!!!   have a great day!!!!

I tried alcohol at about 4mths out..  It doe**** you quick but the buzz feeling doesn't last as long.  I've had some wine and vodka/cranberry juice.  I've never been much of a drinker but I do like to have a few every now and then.  The only thing I have found with drinking alcohol with me anyways is that I get extremely dehydrated and then retain water; gain weight.  It takes about a week to flu**** out of my system.
