Looking for new surgeron

I am looking for a surgeron in the Central Maine area that someone would recommend.  Dr. Loggins has not worked out for me.  I have completed all of the testing and passed with flying colors, have quit smoking after 28 years and I'm ready to go!  I imagine that all surgerons request that you are within an hours drive, so maybe I could go out just this side of Portland also.  Many thanks, I'm frustrated and going down for the third time.

I went to Bangor. There are no rules about how far away you live from the hospital or surgeon.  This was one of my concerns and Dr. Toder and I spoke about that. It takes me about 1 1/2 hrs to drive to Bangor from Thomaston. IF an emergency required Dr. Toder's immediate attention my local hospital could do preliminary services and life flight me to Bangor.

EMMC has an excellent program, it's a Bariatric Center of Excellence. There are 4 Dieticians and currently there are 3 surgeons- this fall there will be a 4th.

What hasn't worked out?

I originally started with Dr. Loggins in Lewiston and it didn't work for me either...I switched to Maine General in Augusta,he is wonderful! I have had nothing but good meetings with him. My surgery went off wonderfully, no issues!

I also used Dr. Trieu in Augusta and I'm very pleased with him and his staff.  Start to fini**** took me a little less than 4 months from consult to surgery.  I also looked at Dr. Loggins and was very impressed with both programs, but my gut said to go with Trieu, and like I said, I'm very happy.  Hope it works out for you wherever you choose.

I love Dr Toder!  I had no problems at all.  The Bangor team is great!  Good luck!

Thank you to all who posted options for me.   I've started with a new primary care physcian and have taken off 11 pounds in the past two weeks.   Seems like fibromyalgia and water weight are very good friends.  Dr. Loggins office is happy to see it going and I'm going to give it another few weeks to see what happens.  I can't tell you all how much your support means to me.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!
