Frustrated

Hello all!
I am a patient of Dr. Wolff.  I saw her a little over 2 weeks ago and we scheduled surgery for 7/7.  She was a little concerned MaineCare would deny my surgery b/c I am too healthy.  So I have been a nervous wreck waiting to hear from them.  I finally gave up and emailed MaineCare yesterday and found out that the request from the doc. had just arrved yesterday!!  THey said it would be a few weeks before a decsion was made Now, surgery is in 2.5 weeks and I was due to go to my pre-op tests this coming Tuesday and now I can't.  Has anyone had this happen and still made it to their sheduled date or did you end up having to reschedule.  I hate the thought of doing the pre-op diet only to have my surgery date moved.  UGH.  Thoughts?  Advice?  Ideas?  I emailed Dr. Wolff's office last night to ask what I should do.  Hopefully I'll hear from them today.

Hang in there!! I think most of us would agree that the timing for the surgeries seems to work out to be JUST RIGHT, so relax and just go with the journey, it will happen when it is suppose to happen...if that is too zen for you...call, call everyday!! LOL  you're in my prayers. Kate

It was magic when she realized who she had become...

I agree with Kate!  Keep calling the doc's office and MaineCare!  A little squeaky wheel sometimes helps!  The doc's office must have some confidence that you will be approved or I'm thinking they wouldn't have scheduled the surgery?  IMHO.   Keep calling them.......Good luck!!!!!!!!!

Good luck and I agree. Call every day until you get an answer.  If you don't by the time to start the two week diet, then maybe call and reschedule yourself.  Stinks, but not much else you can do, I know you must be frustrated!!!

MaineCare is usually very quick to make a decision.  If you call tomorrow they should have a decision by then or Monday at the latest.

SO after all of that I got my approval letter in the mail today.  They actually approved t the same day I called and they said it would be a few weeks.  Grrrr.  Now, obstacle # 2......my partner fell and broker her ankle!!!  She's in a cast for now and we'll find out whether or not she needs surgery on Monday.  UGH.  What do I do??  DO I keep my surgery too?  Do I postpone?  We have two young boys (4.5 and 2.5) to take care of.  I'm not sure what to do.  Part of me thinks I should postpone and part thinks I've waited long enough and just do it and figure it out and take care of the kids through the pain.  My mom is coming to help out for a few days when I have my surgery anyway.......do you think that's enough??  HELP

Not sure what you should do, but I just wanted to say about a week an a half ago I had surgery by Dr. Wolff.   I just LOVE her!!! She did a great job and has such a good bedside manner.  You are going to be in good hands :)  Even her staff is super friendly!

THanks for the message.  She was very nice when I met her so I am happy to hear she has a good bedside manner as well :)  Our stats are very similar...I started out 3 pounds lighter than you and am currently three pounds heavier then when you had surgery.  I will be watching you closely :)
