Getting started

Hi, everybody!

I've been absent for a while.  It's been crazy, crazy busy for me lately.  But the awesome news is that I have officially started the pre-op process!!!

I did my orientation session back in May, and yesterday I had my required meeting with the physical therapist (exercise...urgh) and nutrition class.  I also had my official weigh-in.  259.3 was the magic number, so now it's all about trying to drop some weight, exercise, and get into post-op behaviors NOW.  Not doing too badly so far.  I've actually given up Diet Coke and ibuprofen already - probably my two biggest sacrifices.  LOL

I still have the psych exam next month, but that shouldn't be a big deal.  I also have my first one-on-one meeting with the dietitian next month (not sure which one yet).  After that, I can be scheduled to meet with the surgeon.  I basically *have* to have Dr. Toder because I'm on Medicare, but she's the one I wanted anyway.  :)

It's all very exciting!

Congrats to you for starting this whole process! It can be long and involved but it is SOOO worth it!  Hang on for a wild ride!  There are plenty of folks around here who share your surgeon, so I'm sure they'll be glad to help you out too!

Good luck!!!!!

It will be no time at all now, good luck and let us all know if you have questions or concerns.  The time really does fly and it is so worth it getting in to the swing of your new lifestyle as early as possible.
