Shawn update today

Shawn is currently  having filters  but in his veins for his  surgery next week.
they  are not sure if they going n thru his groin or his neck.  Will   figure that out  while they are in there.

His wife just called and  he is in the or for that now.


He thinks  he will stay on the liquid diet  for a week after surgery.   I told him that that was  a long time away he  might  change his mind lol  He likes  this  weight loss.  makes it worth the struggle with liquids.

it's amaizing what our Brain will do when we see the light at the end of the tunnel.  For years we started a diet every monday and was lucky to stay on it till supper.  then when we knew we were having wls, we kicked it up a notch.  I know for myself I can't believe I hung in there for a whole year, no I wasn't perfect, but a hell of a lot better then i would have been before wls.  he will do remarkable.  Does he know how aggressive his fills will be?   anyone on OH< with the same Dr/band so he can compare notes.  that would be a great help for him.  he really should go to the band forum too, I learned so much about being patient and what I was doing wrong and what to change there.  Best of luck to him.

Our  doctor   is not overly agressive with fills.  she is very conservative from what i am told.
so not knowing what that means  he should  find out  soon lol.

He is having the realize band next week on the  4th.

I  cant wait for him to  begin and get his first  restriction   That will be  an interesting  thing to see.

from my understanding, the Realie band is just a brand name.  many of us all have different brand bands, some smaller, some bigger 4 cc or 10 cc bands.  each dr. has their prefference

How exciting, nice that they have the filters now. It makes things so much safer.  My fingers and toes are crossed for him!

i understand that lap band is made by a cosmetic company and was  about the only one out there for a while

realize is made by johnson and johnson and is the  best there is out there right now.

Our doctor will put anyone in that you want but she prefers the realize band right now as she says  johnson and johnson makes the best surgical stuff in the world.  The realize band comes with a little fluid in it to begin with.  

there are more then just 2 kinds of bands and i'm sure your dr will put in whatever she thinks is best for your son.  my dr explained to me that they all come with a little in them to keep them primed, lubricated.  but that is just my understanding, i'm sure you know much more about the Band.  best of luck to him.

Shawn is home  finally   and   was not happy he had to have his wife help him go to the bathroom.  and I told him that he  wanted to have  an open rny to start with lol.

He would of never made  it thru that i dont think lol

He needs to  force fluids tonite but should be pretty normal tomorrow

he plans to go to   weigh****chers with me in the morning so we will have an official  loss record.
