poison ivy

just for those who don't know about poison ivy "LIKE ME"... somehow I keep re infecting myself, somewhere, somehow???  I"m not sure If I'm getting it from doing laundry, or touching something that has the "Oil" on it.  my DH's is all scabbed up and almost healed.  mine keeps breaking out more and more.  I look so pathetic, people look at me and i am starting to stay home because of it.  so my best information for you is this, if you think you've come in contact with it, wash well with soap and water, wash your garden tools, laundry, after you do laundry wash your hands again.  it is a very bad year for P ivy.  your rash is NOT contageous but the oil from the plant is, and even is indefenetly, the oil if on a shovel  or sleeping bag, can stay contageous over the winter and reinfect your after a year.  So good luck to you all and play it safe, this is NO fun.  now i have it in my neck, thighs, arms, toes.

Yikes!  that does not sound like fun.  I hope you manage to get rid of the culprit and get a chance to heal up!1

Cheryl have you gone to the Dr. for it? My brother is allergic to it and it got really bad for him. If it is not clearing up at all I would go check it out. Better safe than sorry right?

I feel your pain. I had it soooooo bad once I had to take predizone (sp?) for it. It was awful and spread like crazy especially if I got hot. I have scars on my legs from it. I hope you find your source and can get rid of it.

i wish I could have taken meds, it was pretty bad and still is, but i was in the middle of taking some TB tests for my work and wasnt' able to take any kind of med to alter the results of the test.  I"ve been dying.  and yes, long sleeves and heat has made it worse, after my shower.

There was a show on Ch 6 news about a guy from Maine who has found the cure...check out their web site and see if it is still posted...
