Introducing foods again!!!

So last week I went to my two week follow up appointments and was so excited to get to eat real food again to some degree.

I think out of all the meals I've had since Thursday I've only been pain free for two of them. I'm really trying to slow down and chew well but obviously not enough.

I tell you there isn't a way to describe the pain that comes when something is sticking, as you all know! I luckily have been able to wait most of them out and they eventually move on. I have been sick once and was very shocked at how different it was from vomiting before.

Sorry this is probably major over kill but I'm struggling a little with getting settled into eating right.
Thanks for listening!

You  are correct  upchucking is definately different.

But   take it slow.   Make sure you are getting all your fluids in.  They still are the most important  and you can get your protein in  with the shakes.

We  get a book from out  nuts that give you day by day menus and if you follow them  it works pretty good.  Not sure how yours does.   Make sure you dont over eat and yes  learn to slow down and chew.

Hard  but  necessary  and when you get  as far out as i am it is second nature.  I dont even miss fluid with my meals.

I had  a lobster dinner today.   Ate all the lobster which the tail i broke up into little pieces.  ate half a corn and  a small tossed salad.    MMMMM  good food and i felt  normal.  Take care

One thing that has helped me it to weigh and measure everything.  I still get hungry and my head tells me I need more to be satisfied but if I only eat my three oz's I am satisfied and don't feel sick.  Hope this helps.  I think it takes our brains a lot longer to adjust than it does our bellies to the larger portions we used to eat.

I agree that if they could fix our head as well as our stomach, we'd be all set!  Just go slowly and chew, chew, chew!  It DOES get better in time!!!!!

I don't think its overkill. I go for my two week checkup this Thursday and I am so excited to advance to the next stage, yet I am scared to death to actually eat anything at the same time. Have you narrowed down any foods in particular that cause you pain?

Hopefully it will get better as they said, but good luck to you!

Thank you everyone for the feedback.

I have definately ruled out chicken for awhile, everytime I have ate chicken it's gone bad. Today in particular, tried some chicken salad and threw it all up after a few bites, just doesn't go down well.

I have found ground turkey to be the best and easiest and eggs.

Good Luck Kelley!

I still struggle with my meals and I am a month out.  Nothing sounds good so sometimes I just wont eat.  I cant do anything with milk or eat yogurt by itself.  That makes me throw up.  I cant do beef yet.  I can do chicken and scallops pretty well.  The biggest thing is remembering to chew chew chew.  I have to remind myself every meal.  I wish they could have made a brain adjustment while I was in there!!!   Lol.  Good luck
