Toast...NOT

I had to do some grocery shopping today and I am always looking for something new to try.  I found Double Protein Bread.  Thought.... that might be good.  One slice is 7 grams of protein and whole grain so it should be good ...right?  OMG...I decided to make toast because I have heard that bread is difficult for some people.  I toasted it up real good and it went down pretty good.  Small bites and chewed good.  Well all of a sudden I got very ....shall we say ....violently ill.  I think my veins were about to pop out of my head.  So needless to say.  NO TOAST FOR ME!!!  though maybe with some cheese like a grilled cheese may help.  I hate to waste the loaf as my kiddos wont eat it.  God forbid if the see a nut or grain.  LOL

Throw it in the freezer.......maybe you can eat it in a few months?  I don't do much bread as it fills me up too much and I just can't justify the little bit of protein in it.  Sorry you got sick on it though........NOT a good feeling!!!!

Yep I would do what Ruth said...maybe you just aren't ready for it yet.  Try it again in a few weeks/month.  I don't eat a lot of bread either because it fills me up quick.  Occasionally I will eat a whole grain 100 calorie english  muffin toasted well with pb on it.  Other than that the only "bread" item I eat nowadays is small low carb whole wheat tortillas.

That is the kind of bread I used to eat (before I gave up bread, because I figured it wouldn't be worth it).  It freezes very well and is good to use if you need bread crumbs for a recipe (since it has so much fiber and some protein).  Sorry you got so sick!!!

I'm sorry to hear you had trouble with it. What brand is it and where did you find it? I want to try it. I haven't had any trouble with bread so far. I have only had it a couple of times and less than a slice each time but no problems.
