I'm with you on that...it's difficult!  Do you know if he is doing a 12month tour or 15?  My hubby was deployed to Afghanistan when he first got back into the army in 06, and was gone for what seemed like an enternity.  My thoughts are with you and your son!

I'm sure you and your DH are concerned.  How proud you must be, as we are of all these men and woman who serve for "US".  Please know that things are getting better and will continue to be.  hope his stay is short and can return back to Maine safe and soon.  my thoughts will be with your family.

You be sure and tell him how proud we are all of him and he doens't need to be a hero.  Just come home safe and in one piece, that's all it takes to be a hero.  God bless and good luck to him.  He'll be in our thoughts and prayers, what amazing people we have serving to protect us and our freedom.

You should be proud of your son. I hope you are. My thoughts and prayers are with you and him along with all out troops. My nephew is currently in Iraq on his second tour and my brother has done 2 tours with another pending. He was stateside for my his sons senior year in highschool which is fast coming to a close. Who knows what the months ahead will bring.
Prayer is the most powerful tool we have as we wait for out loved ones to return safe God willing.
