All the very best to you !!

Like some of the others I didn't have to do the bowel prep so have no advice for ya there...
As for the "experiencing 2nd thoughts..."
I'm pretty sure we've all been there !!  But like Barb said; as long as you're doing this for all the right reasons and you're OK with your decision then I'm sure you're gonna do amazingly well...lots of changes to get use to...but if it means being happy & healthy again...how can that be wrong ??

Again...all the best to you tomorrow and keep us posted !!

I'll be thinking all kinds of positive thoughts for you tomorrow for your surgery!  Make sure to keep us posted and let us know how you're doing.  Hope the bowel prep isn't too horrendous today...

Good luck with your surgery. Just remember to breathe!  You will be fine.  I think its natural to second guess yourself.  Its human nature.  Just follow the path you set for yourself and remain authentic and you will know you made the right decision.  Good luck again.

Ditto on the Yucky bowel prep.  I still to this day gag when I think about drinking it.  I also had mixed mine with apple juice to make it go down better, but I still cannot drink apple juice now.  LOL.  As for second thought, you wouldn't be normal if you didn't have them.

Even though I have had issues since my surgery, I would still have this surgery in a heartbeat.  It is the best thing that I ever did for myself and my family.  Good luck and let us know if you need anything.  Missi

Good luck!  I haven't had the surgery yet, so I can't give any advice, but I will be thinking of you.

Whoa, you guys are the best! I have been soooo comforted and encouraged by you all. Sunday I had theis weird need to clean EVERYTHING. I kept saying, "I'll rest after I do this...and this...etc.". By the time the day was over, I had my husband running errands to redecorate my bedroom. No painting, just new bedding and curtains. I told him that I wanted to feel like I was coming home to a suite when I return from the hospital. So he's going to fix it up while I'm gone.

As for the bowel prep...oh, my. I ended up having to take antinausea meds to get down everything past the 6th cup. It's not strong tasting, it just tastes wrong. I don't know how else to describe it.

I have "the talks" (as my husband puts it), so I'm sorry for being so gabby. (Love that smiley...lol...) Just nervous energy. This sounds totally bizarre, but I felt like I was saying goodbye to my stomach today. You know, thanks for everything, but this little pouch is going to take over now. I know it will stilll be in my body and functioning, but it's like it's getting divorced from the rest of my digestive tract. Okay-- time for bed; I'm slap-happy.

Thanks for all the well-wishes. I'll be up at 4am and checking in at the hospital at 5:45--surgery at 7:30am. I'm glad it's early so I won't sit around and fret all morning.

I'll catch up with Y'all as soon as I can!
Bye!

Maria

 Hi, I'm back!

Surgery went well. I am home, and although I'm uncomfortable, things wet great. Trying to lea.rn to sip things slowly. Icky but practical question: did anyone else out there struggle with diarrhea when they first got home from the hospital? We had to drink a cup with Milk f Magnesia, and I've had "issues" ever since. Any advice on the first few days home would be great.

Thanks everyone!

Hi Maria...
1st of all **Congratulations** and Welcome to the "Loser's Bench" !!
As for the diarrhea...oh yes...I sure can relate to that one    But it does get better...not much solids in there just a lot of liquids so that's what you're gonna get back    but again, it does get better.  Just keep sipping and walking...the walking helps move that gas and makes things a bit more comfortable...or at least bearable...
Good Luck and all the very best to you !!
