Having some troubles
So I had my RNY on 3/23
and I am having sooo much trouble eating.
Protien shakes I used to love make me gag
And I have started to vomit soft foods - homeade chili, chicken in the crocokpot, tuna salad, cheese . . . etc
I have my appointment with the dietician on Wed but this is killing me.
I have moved back to liquids also because I was consitpated. (water, soup and popsicles)
Just wondering if I have done something wrong ??

I'm sure that you've heard others say that our tastes change after surgery. Try the protein in a sippy cup so you don't have to smell it. Try different types of protein (soy, etc). Vomiting isn't really "normal", so maybe a call to your doctor is in order just to make sure you don't have a stricture or something. Some people have a harder time tolerating foods than others. I'm sure others on here will chime in and tell you their experiences. The first few months are the toughest. It does get easier.
Hang in there........It'll get better!

Remember to take it slow slow slow Don;t rush the soft foods. and only a quarter cup and make sure you measure. \you are still healing and need to take it slow. \yes our tastes change and we cant stand some things It is so imortant to get the fluid in first. and then work on protein.
Ruth is right the first few months are the hardest
take it easy and talk with the nut or give doctors a call\\
take care\\

I agree with what everyone else has said. Things are constantly changing. Something you could eat last week, you may not be able to eat this week, but you maybe able to eat it next week. It is strange how that works. If you do keep vomiting though, I would definately give your dr a call. Good luck and keep us posted. Missi
