My son is doing better but not ready for school yet.  He has pneumonia.  His diabetes is stabalizing now though.  I hate when my kids are sick.  I just hope no one else in the family gets sick.  We are leaving Saturday early am for Florida.  We are taking the kids to Disney for vacation.  I can't wait!!!!  We have been planning this for months.  I just need to plan out some snacks to have for me there.  We are staying at a cabin at Fort Wildnerness.  We have full kitchen and a BBQ grill.  So we will be cooking most of our meals to save on $$$.  We have never stayed at a disney resort.  We are driving there.  That part I am dreading with a 9,13,and 15 year old.  Any one else driven to Florida with kids???  Any advise???

Don't get in to a car accident....  That is what we did when we took the kids to Ft. Wilderness...  But everyone was okay and we got home and decided to fly down, rented a house to save money.  You will have a blast. The kids will be so excited on the way down they'll sleep.  Bring plenty of games/ipods/and a portable DVD player or Laptop so they can watch movies. YOu can get a small adapter at lowes or home depot to plug in the cigarette lighter and plug the devices in the that.

Good luck and have fun, glad you DS is on the mend.

We've driven from WA state to KY to FL and up to Maine and then back to WA state with a 13, 12, 6, 5, and 1 year old........so, it IS possible to do it without pulling your hair out!  I'd make sure you have car chargers for the video game systems and a DVD/TV in the car.

Hope you havea great time!
Glad to hear your son is feeling better!  Hope no one else gets sick!!!!
