My son

My middle son is a diabetic.  He has been since he was 7.  He just turned 13.  He has been home sick all week.  The Dr. said he has a nasty virus that is going around.  He has had fevers all week.  Now it has messed up his diabetes.  We are taking him to the hospital this morning.  I think he may need to be admitted.  I feel so bad for him.  Life is not fair sometimes!!!   Keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

Poor kiddo, this flu that is going around is nasty.  So far it has not hit our house.  Good luck and I hope your son is feeling better soon.

It's aweful to have sick kiddos!  Hope he feels better soon!  I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers!  Let us know how he's doing!

My youngest daughter, 14 as of yesterday :) , has been diabetic since she was 3yrs old. Its so hard when they get sick.  We've been very lucky over the years and shes been pretty healthy.
I know how you feel, Its definately not fair!!!!!

Well we just got home from the hospital.  He had to spend the night in the ICU.  He has pneumonia and was in DKA (ketosis). The pneumonia messed up his diabetes and he went into ketosis and was dehydrated.  He is doing better now,  just has to lay low for a while til the pneumonia improves.
