why do you have protein shakes?

Well I have just started adding protein shakes and bars. I was told at the start I only needed to get 30-40 grams of protein a day. then after reading and hearing others say we needed nearly 100 grams I tried it. I FEEL so much better with more protein. I cannot eat enough to get 80-100 grams so have the shakes and bars.

I'm with you on this one Cheryl.  I'm always amazed at how many people still do the shakes.  I probably don't get enough protein but I'm close.  Also I prefer the full feeling I get from eating solid food.

I've never used the unflavored protein powders.  Some people add them to their foods but I don't even know how.  Do you add the powder as you are cooking or in the final stagesof completion or just before serving?  Does it matter if you're cooking something on the stovetop or in the oven?  For example I'm making spaghetti with meatballs tonight.  If I were to add unflavored protein powder would I add it to the sauce or to the meatballs?  Taste wise is it noticeable?  I've never added any because if it were to change the flavor or texture of the food I don't think the others would eat it.
