I'm sorry you had to encounter this nasty bag again. Ruth is right. She needs to have some "in her room" therapy and not be allowed to embarrass and demean you and the other patients.

I would also be concerned about your co-workers response. I don't understand. Think about what??? The only answer is to correct the patient. " Sarah is an excellent therapist. Please don't make such rude comments", would be a more proper reply.

If there is a silver lining to this situation it is that the comment was made in a group setting, you have witnesses and have brought the matter to your supervisor.

When you meet with your supervisor, please use the term harrasment. You are protected against this type of behavior.

I am so glad to hear that you took such a brave step to discuss this with your supervisor. You are doing yourself and your bariatric patients a big favor and I am very proud of you! I hope that the staff meeting will be productive in helping to resolve this situation and educate others.
