DH went for his 3 month follow up witn the NUT after RNY. He's above the average in weight loss, fat loss and lean body mass gained! He has lost 80 pounds since his 1st visit to start RNY.

He's looking great! From a size 50 pant to 40-42, 3XL shirts to an XL.

This surgery has been such a Godsend for both DH and me.

must be wonderful to be able to work this together, I hate having "Things" around the house for everyone else, I'm really good about eating it, but have been known to stuff a cookie or bite of icecream, here and there.  congratulations to both of you.

First of all I have to say I love your screen name and pic.  It made me laugh!!  After reading your post I had to reply.  Since having this surgery, I buy the "no sugar added" fudgesicles.  They taste great and satisfy my chocolate craving.  The kids and DH eat them as well.  If I buy ice cream for them, I buy something that doesn't tempt me, like orange ice cream bars.  Also, have you seen the "sugar free" Jello desserts in the dairy section?  There are only 60 calories in those.  Sometimes I will sprinkle on 1 tsp of graham crackers on top to feel like I'm getting a treat....kind of like a piece of pie.  The DH did this the other day and loved it.  Jello has a banana/fudge one and a creamy caramel one.  I like the banana fudge.....love chocolate!!

Just some things that have worked for me.  The whole family is eating healthier.  I don't deprive them, I am just making healthier choices and because of that, they are too.  They eat the fudgesicles as much as I do.  We all joined the gym too and they work out too.  This RNY has been a blessing to the whole family.  We are all healthier because of it.

Have a great day.

Tammy

KUDOS to your DH.  That's great that he's dropped so quickly.....he's a man so that's an advantage he has over us women.  I bet he was inspired by how well you have done.  This surgery is wonderfully and really does bless a lot of people.  Keep up the good work.

Sounds like your dh is doing great  too!!! good for him, It is great to have someone in the house that is going through the same thing you are. I have a great supportive dh and I am very grateful for that, but he sometimes forgets.
