Ok so I have been lurking on this site and posting only a few times.  I was banded on the 30th of December and so far I have not really had any issues with PBing or Sliming, and I do not really have much restriction at this point.  I have had 3 fills and have 4 cc's in my 10cc band so I still have a ways to go if necessary.  My biggest problem right now is that although my husband is great and supports me wonderfully, I really need someone to talk to that knows what I am going through.  So if there is anyone out there that would like to be my buddy just let me know, and I will definately get in touch with you.  Now for my Stats as I will call them....

Highest weight 270ish.......Preop diet 230..... Day of Surgery 214.... Current weight 190

Thanks for reading this

first of all, from your stats your doing AWESOME.  Your doing something right.  as I posted you earlier, I am more then happy to be you Buddy, please Im me anytime.  AS for restriction,  your getting close.  4cc's is getting up there.  You will probably start getting smaller fills soon.  and Sliming is probably going to happen soon.  My best suggestion for Slimming, is 1.  slow down, chew, put your fork down after every bite.  2. cook your meat moist  3. if you feel a small pressure or pain "STOP" walk around, don't try to keep eating.  4. Don't let yourself get too hungry, pack some Almonds or snack, if you need too.  If I get too hungry, I find myself eating too fast and getting into trouble.  Also, check out the Lap Band Forum, Lots of experienced folks there.  When is your next fill?  Don't compare your fill to anyone,  everyone has different restrictions at different times.  Mine has even changed,  its quite interesting and hard to understand, but true.

I have a dumb question.  Is one of the reasons that Dr.Toder is going with the Realiz Band is because of the support?  I though I heard that somewhere. I have a couple of friends that are banders and banders to be. I will be sure to turn them on to this site as I belive that there is somehting about being a "mainer" that makes us understand each other a little better, and any new or old Mainers still understand.  But chatting with someone it Atlanta or New York CIty just isn't the same for me. They have very different goals, lifestyles, and eating habits.  Good luck ladies, I hope you find some more pals that are willing to come out and be friends with us!!

I can't answer that question except for "realize Band is a brand name, there are many types of bands, sizes.  not sure what you mean about Support.  A Band is a Band??  I have made great friends from the Band forum, from all over, even the UK. But I talk to them on PM not on the forum, too much action to keep up with, have to weed thru so many questions that dont' pertain to me.  I just look for what I'm interested in.  But yes, get your friends to join us on here.

WELCOME!  Glad to hear you're doing well. This group is supportive, though we have all variety of WLS here.

I think the support she mentioned with the Realize band is the web support sevices for their patients. The way I understand it is that Realize banders have access to their special web site, chat area and access to professional support on-line.

I did not have my lap band in Maine but, I am now living here.  You are doing very well.

I have 7 cc's in my 10 cc band.  I am once again frequently hungry so, I scheduled an appointment with my band doctor for next month.

I would be glad to talk with you.  It may take me a few days to reply as I am not on line every day.

I am seeing Dr. Toder hoping to have the band and there is special access for the realize band website.  Most of it can't be accessed until after your surgery but it seems to have ALOT on it for support.  Also, by using the code they give you to register the doctor's office has access to all the information you enter in on the site.
