ot- finally 7 years later......

I commute from Midcoast to Augusta every day to work. I have e-mailed GO MAINE- the carpool, vanpool service for 7 years to get a van for our area. I have been carpooling all these 7 years.

Yesterday I picked up a brand spanking new 2009 Doge Grand Caravan from GO MAINE. I am the primary driver. There will be up to 6 passengers signed up. The best part is that as driver I ride for no $, just have to drive each day, do a monthly report and make sure it's cleaned and call the schedule maintenance! GO MAINE pays all the gas, maintenance etc. The other 6 riders pay a fee to be in the van pool.

There will be extra $ in my pocket as I won't be filling my own car with gas as often. My 11 year old Subaru will get an extended life and save me from needing to replace it as soon. Even carpooling I have added 106,000 miles to it in the past 7 years. When I started working there it had 53,000 miles.

how great is that.. i didnt know they bought vehicle i thought it was a someone personal.. how cool is that save money to beny u..in the state of maine...lol

Good for you !!! Sounds like a win win for you.. and the other 6 passengers, they won't have to drive. I only have a 5 mile commute, just right for me.. I did note the signature you go girl.......

I had no clue that's how that program worked!  WOW!   It took a while but at least they got it done for you right?!?!   COOL!!!!!
