Flintstones vitamins

Can someone tell me why we have to take the Flintstone vitamins before surgery--can't we take like a One-A-Day?  I think the Flintstones are soooooo nasty.  After I chew them up I have this awful taste in my mouth like all day.

Because that is all you can take after surgery.For awhile any way. However I was a bit confused because "they" gave me two or three of my swallow pills right in the hospital and I came home on my third day..

I use Centrum Chewables.  Used them 6 months preop and still do.  Mine are orange flavored.  I like them!

I use Centrum also. 

I still use the orange flavored Centrum chewies too.  Our nut told us they were one of the more "complete" multivitamins.  I've been taking them over a year now......still like em........Go figure??

You can  take  a   womans one a day  now  

After surgery you start out with  a chewable  and then go to   regular

your book has what a vitamin has to have in it.  So check there.

Shawn and i compared a mens one a day to  a womans one a day and a man had a few things  that were more but  lacked in the iron  category.

I  get  my childrens complete at  cotcso out of state  and they are  sugar free and dont leave the awful taste that  flintstones.   they are the kirkland brand.

I prefer them.  but  check your book and it will give you the  minumum  you can have

You can have a centrum but not a centrum silver as in the silver   it cuts down on the iron.

I get my Centrum Chewies at Wally world, but Hannaford has them too

Thanks for all the suggestions--I am on my way home from work right now and I am going to stop to get new vitamins--I just can't take another day of those Flintstones.

I was glad to finish the bottle of Flintstones and start taking regular one a day vits. Of course, I didn't read carefully and thought Flintstones were forever.

When I was in the hospital in January (not RNY)  I asked Dr Toder why the one-a day's rather than chewables and she told me we're allowed regular vits after we heal.
Silly me- it is in the notebook. DUH!
