endoscopy tomorrow plastics, consult thursday
So I had some time to pop in here so I wanted to do a quick update. Things are going great and I just started back up at the gym. I was a complete slacker for the past several months trying to do it at home. So I am making time for myself and hitting the gym.
Tomorrow am I have an upper endoscopy. I am 90% sure they are going to find an ulcer. (I have had the same pains as you Ruth). They would come-be unbearable, then go away after a few days. When I am on the prilosec I have no issues though. We shall see.
On Thursday I am going for a free consultation with Dr. Verne Weisburg in Portland. When they give you a quote it is good for a year. Then when I hit my 18 month mark I will go to the one here and see, but likely only if I think I may try to go through insurance---just not sure about that yet.
I am going to find out about a lft/reduction/augmentation...who knows...whatever they can do with the things that are supposed to be called boobs...and a tummy tuck. I am also asking about my neck (I can't stand it and while I look small---my chin is directly attached to my nexk it seems---and I might throw in there...and what about my inner thighs? Just to see.
It is my boobs that are making things difficult (even more so than my stomach). Tops don't fit right, and I need a 34 around, but a DD cup still. Nothing there, but when you roll it all up and stuff it in that is the cup I need. Very hard to find that. So tops don't fit right, my nipples are always pointing in opposite directions LOL, and I am afraid the roll over the bra under my armpit will cause me not to wear tanktops or sundresses.
I know many of you are very interested in eventually doing plastics so I will come here right away and post what he said and the costs they give me for each thing in case you wanted an idea.

Hope all turns out well with your endoscopy and your plastics consult! Endoscopies aren't fun, but if they at least find out what's going on in your tummy, it'll be worth it!
Please do keep us posted on both appointments! I TOTALLY hear ya about needing some "work" done! BUT........I'm much older than you and, so far, no skin issues...........so it prolly ain't gonna happen for me through my insurance! OH WELL! C'est la vie!!!!!! I'll just live with my saggy butt........thighs............boobs...........arms.........chin...........tummy..........hhhhhmmm.....I think just about EVERYTHING sags!!!!!!! haha!!!!

Ugh....hope all turns out well with the endoscopy.
I am so surprised at how much the excess skin is bothering me, I thought I'd be ok with. Like you - it's making getting clothes hard to find that fit right - only for me it's my mid-drift and lower belly causing problems.....boobs.....never really had that much to begin with.

When they did my endoscopy they found no ulcers but removed a couple staples that had come through, and a loose suture they clipped out. The pain I felt was horrible but went away after a day. I think I felt the staples moving in my pouch? Only thing that I can think of that would have caused that kind of pain. I was doubled over for 24 hours. No ulcer though yeah. Best of luck Tanya. .
Well I had the endoscopy this morning. I didn't realize how tired I would be. Came home at 10:15 am and laid down for a bit...just woke up now at almost 3pm! Probably rest I needed for getting up with the babes at 5am everydayu amd knowing this was my chance to catch up on some rest ha ha.
So they did find an ulcer. I need to stay on my prilosec for 4-6 weeks or something like that. They also gave me a prescription for liquid carafate. I know Ruth had to take that, not really sure what it is for or what it does, I forgot what he was talking about after I guess. I have to have another endoscopy done in 4-6 weeks and we wil go from there on whether I need to remain on the prilosec etc. He also sent some tissue off for a biopsy. At least I know what it is.

Sorry to hear that you have an ulcer!
It should heal up pretty quick with the prilosec and carafate (at least mine did). It stinks having to go back for ANOTHER endoscopy, but at least you get to rest, right? (I know...not how you'd like to be resting!) When I took the carafate, I could almost feel it going into my pouch and soothing the pain.....it was pretty incredible! Hope they gave you the liquid. It's just a pain to schedule meals and snacks around taking the med on an empty stomach! BUT...oh so worth it!
At least you know what is going on and can be on the mend now!
Hope you feel better quickly!!!!!!

They did give me the liquid kind. Picking it up tomorrow. It isn't inflamed now since they put me back on the prilosec, so at least I am not in pain. I think they are sending me back in 4-6 weeks to see if I need to stay on prilosec (basically forever) or I can stop it.
Now my next appointment is for plastics on Thursday...now that one I can't ait to hear what they have to say.
