We had a great day today :). Picked up AJ and T from their moms and headed up to the museum in Augusta. A, AJ and T had never been there before, but they also have a new part upstairs about Maine living that C and I had never seen before so there was something new for us all. We had a great time, even with crazy boys running around being silly...(I think A and I may go back sometime with just US so that we can actually spend some time looking around...hahaha parenthood is great!!). I always loved going to the museum as a kid and still love going!! IT was just a lazy walk around looking at things but it beat doing homework on my butt all day!!  I hope the kids enjoyed it as much as A and I did.

Does anyone know of other cool places to visit to bring kids? I like doing things with them but there are limited "non-food" activities that i know of....

Museum in Augusta sounds like fun!  I've been there a few times with the kids and their school, as a chaperone!  Now THAT's fun!  NOT!!!!!  haha

My kids and I love being outside, so we either go sledding (behind the post office in Lisbon) or we go ice skating in Auburn at Pettingill Park (they have half a football field flooded over there).  We also go hiking at Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary.

I don't think we'll be going too far tomorrow though!  Looks like shoveling and sledding on the hill in our back yard is what's on tap!  WOOHOO!!!!  I'm SOOO glad I'm on vacation!!!!!

Have fun!

How about the Discovery Museum in Bangor? Although that might be a little too far for you.

When I was knee-high to a grasshopper many, many moons ago - my parents use to take us to the museum at the capital. I would stand there totally fascinated by the shrunken head. Still can't figure it out.

Depending on what you're into...my boys loved going to Ol' Fort Western when they were younger...
