Well, I went to PCP today.  2 weeks ago I was 442. Last week I was 421.9 and I credited that weight loss as strictly water weight.  Well I weighed in today. 423.3. Although I gained 2 pounds, I am still happy.  That means that I lost some real weight, not jus****er weight.  The build up of water in my ankles is far greater than 2 pounds.  I am glad about this. What a relief. I was expecting at least a 10 pound weight increase at the very least.  I got a little bad news.  She told me that my Vitamin D level was in the toilet. Precisely what she said.  So for the next 4 weeks, at once a week, i have to take a supplement that is 50,000 mcg  She says it sounds like an awful lot but its to get me within where I need to be by surgery.   Its all good.   Today is a good day.

I'm glad for your weight loss.

People who live in the north tend to have low Vit D levels. We don't get out in the sunshine enough. If we lived south, played outdoors a lot we'd have better Vit D levels.

Vit D is part of my weekly lot of vitamins.

Did they tell you to take Vit D or is this something you are doing by your own choice?

The vitamin D was actually prescribed.  I dont think they have such high doses over the counter. I have to pick it up at the pharmacy tomorrow.  I've been directed to take the prescribed supplement only once a week as it is such a high dose.  We'll see what happens..

My NUT has me taking Calcium with 600mg Vit D (twice a day)
PLUS an addt'l. 400 IUD's of Vit D once a day...
had my first ever Bone Density test done a few weeks ago...
and everything was "good" so hopefully I'm doing something "right"  {lol}

Hope everyone's having a good week ~

Interesting....I'm assuming we have the same nutrional department, since our surgeons are in the same practice - I realize our eating plan is different although. I've just found with all the people I work with who have been through the program before and after me get different advice.

I see Tama...one of the newer girls who's in with Lynn & Dayna...
at the EMMC Medical Annex on Union St...
I'm assuming that's where you go as well ??

So you don't take any extra Vit. D at all ??
My friend, Cindy had Dr. Toder...she takes the calcium w/ Vit. D but that's it...
no extra D...but then she drinks milk like it's her job !!  (lol)  and I'm still having issues with milk

Have a good day and enjoy the (freakin') snow
I WANT SPRING !!!

I had low vit D pre-op too and had to take that same supplement!  I've been fine since surgery!  Glad everything with your weight went well!   Keep us posted!
