Plastics consultations in Maine
I was wondering from those who have had plastics, or are in the process...what plastic surgery centers did you visit/Dr.'s? Did you go to more than one for consultations? Pricing differences for same procedures?
I was looking at central Maine Plastics here in Lewiston as my mom had a breast reduction with Dr. Bonawitz before and she loved him. Well, he is no longer taking anyone as he is leaving for PA. So that leaves this other guy Dr. Bayat, who I know nothing about.
Dr. Verne Weisburg or Cedera at the plastic surgery center in Portland seem good , but just based on their website. And they offer free consultations, so might be worth it to have more thsn one opinion.
The consultation here will be $120. Just wondering. I am getting more and more antsy to start the process.

I had my consult with Dr Brandon Claytor with Plastic & Hand. He is awesome! He is very professional and made me feel very at ease. He just did my friend's Breast Reduction and she said he was absolutely wonderful! I hope to have my PS done by this fall. I just need to be stable in my weight for 6 more mths.
ETA: oh and my consultation was just my co-pay of $20.00 , even though the letter stated the fee for the consultation would be $105.00

I don't know that my insurance would even cover a consultation now that the one doc on our plan is no longer taking patients. They did call me back, but of course I was on the other line for work. Then when I called back (at 4:30) the office was already closed.
I will definitely talk to them tomorrow. If I end up going for a consult I will let everyone know what they said and an idea of pricing. It's so hard going into it with literally no clue of what to expect for different procedures.
I of course want a TT. But I think even before that I would like a BL, or a reduction with an implant...who knows what they can do with these things. Would LOVE neck lipo or a lift. But that's just me being me and bothered by my profile of my chin directly connected to my neck ha ha.
They do their surgeries right there. They have their own operating room and a licensed anesthesia person. Wonder if that cuts down cost because of no hospital fee. Unless of course they charge that fee there. If they do a free consult I am in for sure. Then I will just pay for another one and go from there. I will probably use like care credit or something for financing.
It's awful, now that I have lost the weight there is a ton of stuff I would like done LOL. Even a little lip injection ha ha

I had a tummy tuck in October 08. Dr Bayat did a super job. I was very happy with the results. One of the things that he did, that I found to be so reassuring, was the fact that he gives his private cell phone number to his patients, just in case there are questions that need to be addressed. I was completely at ease with him and would not consider any other doc if I need more done down the road.
Thanks! I am glad to hear from someone with experience with Dr. Bayat. I have a consult in Portland on March 5th. The quote they give you is good for a year. Which is great, it gives you time to figure out financing etc. I think I might then pay the $120 for a consult with Dr. Bayat late spring and go from there. Do you have a general idea of the cost of a tt from Dr. Bayat?
I have to admit that I'm one of the miracle patients who actually had their insurance cover the excess removal, due to medical necessity. I have a friend who went with me to a follow up appointment, she got some basic numbers from his office. It seems like $7,000 sticks in my head for the tummy tuck. She had other things quoted as well, so I'm not 100% sure. His office staff is extremely helpful, though. It would only take a phone call to find out a general price range for the procedure that you're looking for. If theres anything that I can help with, information-wise, please let me know, I'd love to help.
