http://www.viactiv.com/products/index.jhtml?id=viactiv/produ cts/multivitamin.inc I knew I had got some Viactive vitamines, but you scared me when you said it was only calcium. and yes, the last batch I got was Calcuim. Opps! my bad. I love these, I got some chewable Centrum, I could puke everymorning when I take it, it is so gross and sweet. I am going back to Viactive and reading the labels a little closer, so thank you for bringing it to my attention.
To my knowledge, Viactiv is just calcium. I'm taking the centrum chewables now, trying to get in the habit of taking them so I will be in the habit by post op. Even now, pre-op, I find them overly sweet, not to mention the vitaminy after taste they leave behind. Has anyone ever tried the centrum liquid vitamins? I wonder if that is any better or sweet as well. I've always been a slacker when it comes to vitamins so I don't much about them. Just taking them because I am supposed to lol.
When I first had my surg. I tryed the centrum liquid (because chewable just doesn't work for me... pukeage~!~) and it was the nastyest thing i've ever taken... i don't know if they have more kinds now though... I now take childrens vit. gummy bears. (vitaballs are good too, if your doc ok's gum...) They are a little sweet but i can get them down (even when i was a kid the flinstones ones made me yack) and they are like a treat, and the kids take them with me in the AM so they remeind me (or should i say BEG me hahaha) to take them every day....
Well, I am left to be corrected. I was at Hannaford's today and saw the new Viactiv Multi Vitamins. I didn't get any yet as I didn't have the extra cash on hand, however I am glad to see them. I have the Viactiv Calcium chews and those are working well for me so far. The vitamins should too. Glad I read this thread. Learning something new every day!
Hey Cheryl...that's what it says. As long as you are getting at least 100% on most of the listings in the nutritional box you are good to go! They might contain more sugar and extra stuff that we RNYer's need to be cafeful of but I say if you can get those down better than the chewable centrum you are golden.
Yes, Viactive does have a multi vit but per my Nut, there wasn't enough in them for an RNY patient and now since we are supposed to take two a day now. She said they should all say at least 100% down the list and told me Centrum was the best. But they are gross, you are correct! I changed from chewable to the tablets after 3 months.
